Wireless Networking and Its Types:

With the wireless connectivity you can access the internet on your desktops, laptops or mobiles libraries and the use database, internet and OPAC at anywhere and anytime within or between buildings. The wireless make it possible to connect the internet without any physical wires or devices. Wireless network can facilitate the user to access the internet with in or between the buildings. Here are some information about the wireless networking and its types.

What is a wireless network?

A wireless networks enables the users to access the internet with in or between the buildings, without physical wires.  Through the wireless networks users can access to connect each other and can share a single connection with wireless devices. wireless networking typesFor the wireless network you need few wireless components such as  a wireless router and wireless adaptor for each device  to connect with the network.

There are three types of wireless networks

1: Wireless  Wide Area Networks (Wireless WAN)

2:  Wireless Local Area Networks (Wireless LAN)

3:  Wireless Personal Area Networks (Wireless PAN)

Wireless WANs

Wireless wide area networks is a network that spans a relatively large area of coverage where  satellite or radio transmitters services provide. The wireless WAN  allows access to web based applications. Wireless WANs are typically used for smart phones, netbooks and other handheld devices. through the wireless WANs you can access the data transmissions from any location where the network coverage available. the wireless WAN modem are connected through radio waves  that broadcasts by the wireless networks stations.

Wireless LAN:

Wireless local area network is  network where you  does not need to use wired Ethernet cables. wireless local area network is  two or more computer that communicate by radio waves  without connected with wires.  It allows to share the data, information and devices such as printers between one or more computers without physical connections with a network.

WLANs can access data transmissions through radio wave signals that  broadcast through the wireless router or adopter. for WLANs connection your operating systems must be equipped with a wireless card because without a wireless card your computer will not pick the signals.

Wireless PANs

Wireless personal area network is a short distance wireless network that is organized around an individual person. it is typically designed for to support portable and mobile computer, cell phones and other handheld devices. through the WPAN’s network you can transfer data, files, emails, digital photos and music. the most common example of the WPAN is Bluetooth it allows devices within close proximity for join together and exchange information and data. Bluetooth is the short range radio technology that enables you to communicate between different devices without any wire. a single chip fitted into mobile, laptop and other handheld devices that enables you to transfer data by radio waves and without using any wire. The WPAN’s range covers less than 10 meters.

How do they work?

All wireless technologies use wireless medium such as routers and airwaves, so there is no need to connect with physical wires or cables. for the Wireless networks you need a wireless access point, wireless PC card and adaptor  and a network connection. for the WAN  you need an additional antennas to boost the signals. Wireless networking enables you to access and  transfer information or data at anywhere any time  without physical wires .
