DNS stands for Domain Name System and in this method each computer is assigned a unique name so that the computers could easily join with World Wide Web Internet or intranet. Domain name system contains different parts in their naming system and each part defines important information related to the source. Domain Name System transfer responsibilities to Authoritative Name Server which further assign domain names and then map them to IP (internet protocol) addresses. Today I will guide you how you can perform installation of DNS Server on your computer or laptop.

Follow my step by step guide and efficiently set up your installation of DNS Server.

Step 1:

First you need to go to Start–>All Programs–>Administrative Tools–>Manage Your Server

Step 2:

Then Go on add / remove server:

Step 3:

Click next from the appeared window:

Step 4:

Choose DNS server from list:

Step 5:

From the next appeared “configure your server wizard “window Click on next:

Step 6:

The next window will show you the processing of the configuration of the installation of DNS Server and the Applying setting:

Step 7:

When the configuration process will complete Click on next:

Step 8:

Select “create a forward look up zone” and click on next

Step 9:

Select the server maintain zone and press next

Step 10:

Enter zone name and press next:

Step 11:

Select allow both secure and non secure updates: and press next.

Step 12:

Select not forward queries: press next

Step 13:

Now simply Press finish:

Successfully you have performed the Installation of DNS Server:
